as i try to get used to our new routine, i.e. the double drop-off. i can't even get my life in order so obviously blogging's gotta take a back seat!
it is SO not fun. we leave at 7am in the morning, drop emma off at childcare, then drop ethan off at his before and after school carer's place (she is doing a WONDERFUL job by the way!), and then drive down to work and if i'm lucky, am at my office desk by 9.30am.
sigh... i can't wait for this year to be over. the double drop-off is really killing me!
plus meal planning has taken on a new challenge this year too. i have to plan what to pack in ethan's lunch bag. some might say that's fun. honestly, i'd rather they had canteens in the schools here, like what we used to have back home! i remember Q-ing for chicken wings, fish ball noodles, chickadees.. yumm
so anyway they don't have canteens here and i have to think about what ethan's going to have for lunch everyday. so far it's been either sandwiches or pastas. i'm trying to expand the menu selection. just give me time to think about it! the little chap doesn't seem to mind much though, having the same thing everyday. lucky me!
too much going on to blog any further (i still have to clean up the kitchen from dinner earlier, and then start planning tomorrow's menu), here are the 'highlights' of the last 3 days:
1. emma got her 4-yr old shots on Sunday. If you know her, you'll know how it went. I came out of the doctor's room and had everyone smiling and looking sympathetically at me. Yes.. they all heard her cry like there was no tomorrow. The silly girl actually made the entire ordeal worse than it could have been by struggling so violently the nurse had to take the needle out (leaving a nasty scratch in the process) and then had to do it a 2nd time... I'm just glad no more shots till she's in high school!
2. ethan had a little accident at the school playground yesterday. he scraped his chin SO badly. thank goodness he didn't need stitches though (and just for the record, can i just say here that i DO NOT appreciate the schools using the words "split his chin" and "hospital" in the same sentence during the phone call to me?? it freaked me out so much i'm pretty sure i'd have been a road hazard yesterday on the way from my office to his school). i also just wanted to say thank goodness for wonderful friends who helped picked ethan up from school (cos it would have taken me over an hr to get to him) and took such good care of him, dressing up his wound and making sure he was entertained (yup - iPad!!)
3. there is no third significant event actually. phew!!
ok. have a lovely evening one and all. i will get organised soon and post up the photos, and some interesting stories, from our holidays :)
